which CMS software is best for Picture or gallery website ?

I think all of them are very good if you know how to use them.
I personally use Wordpress for everything. It looks just for text at first, but if you find a good theme ( or make it like I do ) you can do whatever you like with Wordpress

Out of them two I would favour Wordpress

However for more heavy duty gallery work there are better choices .. Gallery2 http://gallery.menalto.com/

and there's another one called something.de I can't remeber the name of it but it's quite good.

These two are more like galleries rather than CMS though, so don't expect stuff like advanced page management.

 

At least 2 choices to offer, methink:

1. Open Source: Coppermine Photo Gallery - maybe, best of a kind.
2. Shareware: DataLife Engine + DLE v0.08 Photoalbums ("Caesar").

Second option needs a bit of russian language knowledge.
Just avoid Flash-based galleries/CMS due to bad indexing.

 

It's depends on what do you need.

they have their flash galleries for both CMS: Wordpress and Joomla!
