    Definitely Wordpress. I use it for my blog (www.jowki.com) and it works a dream. Very simple to use and hugely customisable.

    If you like your site getting hacked, use joomla.

    If you want your site secure, use wordpress.

    So, the question is, how much time do you want to spend trying to patch security holes and restoring from backup?

    Personally, this is what I would do - setup a wordpress portal in the HTML root, setup a vbulletin forum and install Review Post. Review Post is a commercial grade "review" solution that offers full integration with vbulletin. Their picture gallery solution is one of the most popular gallery solutions for VBulletin.

    There is also a wordpress - vbulletin bridge at vbulletin.org.

    With that combination, you would have a portal, forum and commercial grade review section.

    Wordpress + Thesis seems to be the wave. Lots of folks have abandoned Joomla to use Thesis.

    It's worth a look.
