    Personally I never had to give proof of income for renting a place to live here in the US. For most places I rented a down payment/security deposit was required but times have changed considerably since Covid appeared on the scene and eviction became so problematic for property owners.

    For purchasing property here the seller will run a credit check.

    I just noticed we show to be from different countries so you need a response from someone who
    has experience in the realm in which you wish to rent or purchase.

    I don't know the Pakistani system but in NZ you don't have to prove income, just have a clean credit record.
