Which is best - separate domain or subdomain for each niche?

SEO speaking, which is better - setting up a separate domain for a new niche that you are developing, or do you make it a subdomain of an existing site of yours that is already well ranked with Google?

Seems to me that a separate (keyword-rich) domain name will reap rewards (in the long run), but a subdomain of an existing site that is already spidered regularly will get found and indexed a lot sooner.

There is no difference between domains and sub-domains are far as Niche building is concerned...If you planning for just a great Niche, then you beter chose sub-domains cos they are free...[if you have plenty bucks then ofcors go for domains]

If it's related, then you would sub-domain... Example:

    www. carsareawesome .com
    www. doors. carsareawesome .com
    www. seats. carsareawesome .com
    www. tires. carsareawesome .com

If you're worried about being indexed... You shouldn't. There are several ways of easily being indexed.. The basic way and the one that people use most is getting a couple links on authority sites... Wiki, Yahoo directory... And a couple on article directories like goarticles and ezinearticles. That's about it.

Well, getting into Google's database is not an issue for me. I have a network of sites that are very well ranked in Google. To index a new site, all I have to do is add the new site to the footer of my existing sites and within a few days, it's in. My concern is getting the new site to rank very well, or at least as well as my existing sites. It just seems to me that if I add the new topic as a subdomain of a well ranked site, it might be easier to see good rankings as opposed to giving the topic its own separate. top level domain.

I might just try doing both ways and see how the results differ (keeping in mind that the content should be somewhat different in order to avoid being penalized for posting identical content in 2 different sites).

I vote for subdomains. If you are confident of the main domain's strength, subdomains will act better at google.

But since he is just trying to make a niche site, subdomains will do fairly,
