    Hi all,

I'm trying to decide which is better Ikobo or IntGold. I have no experience in using either of them obviously, so I need help. Has anyone tried Ikobo or/and IntGold?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Payment systems along the lines of PayPal only for the world market.

It's something like Paypal and Stormpay but because I'm in Indonesia, I can't use either.

Apparently if you open an account with IntGold you need to 'buy gold' to recharge your account. Weird... I don't understand.

They only use gold as their base currency. What happens is that you essentially deposit money into your account and then they use the current world market value of gold to ascertain your account value. So if you deposit $10 US and somone else deposits $10 worth of another currency the values will not be considered even since it takes more money for most foriegn currencies to buy the same amount of gold. It may take $1,000 of the foreign currency to buy the same value of the other currency.

What this is doing is making sure that the trade value is the same and that the person receiving the money to be exchanged is receiving the correct amount that is being charged and not more or less than they have posted for their product or service.

Gold essentially is a pretty stable commodity and can only be bought by the correct amount of the originating countries currency. So noone ever has to worry about what the exchange rate is. When you buy lets say a hosting account from someone the system will tell you exactly how much value will be removed from your account to cover the amount that the hosting company is selling the particular plan for in that foreign currency.

I hope that explained it easy enough.

I thought so to at first and was real reluctant to use, but actually just as easy as others. Read some more on it on their website. I hope it makes more sense then.

    Hi,

e-gold,paypal & moneybookers are best. I have heared bad things about intgold. But ikobo is better choice but funding in ikobo is very dificult because you can only fund your ikobo a/c via your credit card.

As for IKobo: great customer service in terms of responsibility - they are online and you get connected withing seconds or minutes for a chat. Though many details are pretty disappointing. Raising limits works in a strange way and not as explained. Some clients are having problems to fund their card (to transfer later to me) because their bank blocks it or it takes too long to find out the confirmation number necessary and payment gets cancelled. Didn't get PIN and had to chat three times on the support chat before it finally got through.

Other from those minor points, I am happy with them, as they deliver what they promise (which is, keep it in mind, money transfers for friends and family, NOT business payment services or merchant-like services), and a customer service responding by return is what makes me feel much better in comparison to most other competitors of their company.

I have been using Ikobo for over a year. It was a little difficult to setup (forms to fill out, credit cards to scan), but everything was fine once I got it setup. What is also nice is their home office is in my city (Atlanta, GA). :)

Thank you very much guys for all the input. :) Pretty much 'eye opening'.

The reason I'm looking for a money transfer system is for business. But from this forum, I think maybe it's best to find something else than Ikobo.

It's too bad that Paypal does not support my country. Most merchants use paypal and I can't make transactions with them because I don't have Paypal.

I was thinking of probably find a way to get a Paypal account. Is is possible to get an American credit card and apply online from Indonesia? If I can get this done, then I won't have any problems anymore signing up for paypal.

    Any suggestions?
