    YouTube is better. But, professionals do use Vimeo to showcase their work.

    Depends on what you are going to use them for. Over all in my opinion, YouTube of course.
    But if you are asking for SEO purposes, YouTube far outweighs any other video site. Just because Google owns YouTube. Google favors YouTube and if you are promoting something via video, uploading it to YouTube will get you more results and is a lot easier to rank on first page of Google, simply because its a YouTube video. The YouTube domain already has millions of backlinks, so think about the advantage your video will have. All you need to do is a little off-site seo for your video ;)

    I like youtube just for bussiness, or just random short videos. But Vimeo I've noticed has alot of "longer" videos. I watch alot of the HackerCon(defcon, shmoocon etc) presentations and they are mostly 40-60mins long and I can only ever find those on Vimeo.

    i believe is youtube because it more common, faster buffering , and more users in youtube.

    From a traffic perspective yes to Youtube. Being owned by Google does have advantages for a website, not the least of which is you can be sure that they will rank youtube videos in the search engines very well.

    Youtube gets so much more traffic compared to vimeo and both have decent HD options now.

    Both are good and best, but youtube is more popular. As youtube had stick in every one's mind so all are using it.Even google promote it :p
