    Well,at first i planned to start link directory site and already bought a domain and script for it...but later i saw some social publishing sites like digg,and i also collected the script from a freeware called pligg . com...

    Now my question is which is is better to start??a link directory?or a social publishing site like digg??? which will be used my by most of the people????

    please ans me....

    so that i can start such site.....

    Another thing is,im using a free host so obviously limited privilages..so is it good to run on a free host SOCIAL PUBLISHING script like pligg????

    No doubt Social publishing will be used by many people but there are already some good sites in this area so I think it will be difficult to make a name in social publishing..So i would recommend to go for link directory idea because every one try to use as many different directories as possible to promote the business hence it will be easier to make a name.

    Go for social publishing site. Running a directory sucks, especially when you have to manually review submitted links(you will get a lot, and barely any traffic).

    I agree with the above. Go for the social publishing site. They work much better and you can also theme your site. By themeing I mean you can choose whether it is a blog only social publishing site, website article publishing site, etc.
