Which platform is best for hosting a discussion forum & blog?

I have done quite a bit of research on the web, but could not make up my mind. Can someone help me choose the best platform?

I am building a discussion forum based site, but it will also have occasional blog entries and some static content. Here is my shortlist candidates

    1. Expression engine + EE forum module - Advantage is one stop shopping
    2. vBulletin + (Wordpress or Drupal?) - Advantage is tried and trusted tools

I am willing to explore other options, but I shortlisted above options since I liked the power of vBulletin and am familiar with Wordpress

    Thanks for your feedback

my suggestions: SMF and TinyPortal, Drupal with phpbb or default forum, Joomla and FireBoard, or Wordpress and BbPress. They are all good, but smf and tinyportal seems a good choice if you don't need fancy CMS features.
