    Mostly I would prefer to join highly ranked social networking sites, who also have an option to integrate each other. For example if you post something on twitter, it will automatically come on your facebook profile, if you have integrated both the sites.

    Twitter has the advantage that anyone can see your message without being referred by a friend. If they like you're message they'll probably follow you and tell their friends to follow you as well, but also with every new tweet you'll expose yourself to new users.
