Which state to incorporate in if I haven't settled down somewhere?

Right now I'm a sophomore in college in NY. However, this semester I am working for GE Corporate as part of their Information Management Leadership Co-Op Program in CT. Next summer I could possibly be back home in Chicago.

With that said, I have three states that I can call home to. I'm in NY for 8 months out of the year because of school, but I have no idea if I'll stay in NY after I graduate in 2 years.

With that said, I'm thinking it would be best to register in a state like Delaware for the above reasons, and the other benefits that would come with it. My business is a website that makes money through selling advertising so I have no brick and mortar store per say.

I know I shouldn't act on anyones advice here, but it will give me some ideas when I go and talk to a lawyer.

    Thanks,
    -Chris

Delaware is a fun place to do it. Taxes are practically nothing if you don't do any business in the state. And if you really need to register in a specific state, you can do so once you have a Delaware business license, every state will let you register there if you have a license from another state (costs like $25/state).

I've heard that Georgia and Wyoming have similiar tax laws to help businesses, but I've never tried them.

Deleware and Nevada are both popular states for incorporation due to favorable tax laws.

There are companies that will be your agent and accept mail for the corp in both states.

Yes, I would also agree with the previous posters. Delaware primarily the main one I would go with and there are many reputable companies that will help you get set up. They'll help you with phone numbers, addresses, faxes and more. So you don't have to worry about these minor details.

Yes Nevada would be my choice.
proinet mentioned that there is a service agent to accept mail, I had heard those were mostly overpriced scams. So do some research before doing that one.
