Who has tattoos? Stories? Pictures?

I saw a couple of people promoting tattoo websites. I am guessing you would have a few to share or so. Although anyone is welcome and encouraged to show some art.

I want to get my first tattoo. I always wanted one for the reason of having a mark to fall back on and look and remember an important meaning. It's just that I am the type of person that analyzes many things and takes mental notes in life, and a tattoo would defiantly fit my personality rather then keeping a diary to go back and check or something like that.

What I am looking to get is a customized design of the phoenix bird. For those who dont know check out wiki -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix . Anyway, there is so many things I find inspiring, and metaphorical about it, it would take up a couple pages to write so I am not going to go in that.

If I actually see some participation in the thread, I have more things to say. But people don't like to read a lot, so I will stop now and get some feedback, maybe some stories shared

I used to want a tattoo back in the day where every other person didn't have one, but i'm too scared of needles.

Even though I used to have my tongue pierced. Go figure.

Anyway, they are so common now. And most people just get pointless tattoo's, and they don't even have a good reason behind why they get them.

The chinese symbols for example, or the tribal tattoo's on the lower back.

Look for inspiration and take your time, make sure its unique to you, so take ideas and develop them with an artist who can sketch it up for you before going into a studio.

When your ready research your tattooist as your tattoo will only be as good as the artist so make sure they have a good portfolio of work in the same style you are after, ask about get recommendations and do your homework.

 

i regret the one on my ankle sometimes because i can't cover it when i have to wear a fancy dress or shorts, so yeah, you do want to think about future stuff too.....and don't do anything dumb like have your name spelled out across the tops of your fingers....and yes i happen to know someone who did that (C H U C K)

 

Lol that's mad! If I ever had one done, i'd definately get it in a place that's cover uppable.

I sometimes see these old women with tats on their back, if they wear small tops in the summer...Their skin is all wrinkly, and the tattoo is all faded. And that's what puts me off because it looks cheap & common.

Yeah your tat might look nice now, but what about when your older. It's not like a piercing where you can easily remove it. And they are not THAT easy to get them removed.

Think long and hard before you get a tattoo on your body.

 

my gramps had a tatoo from the war when he was young from 1940 of an eagle on the top of his hand, and he's regretted it every day since, now it looks like a very faded prison tat

 

In college, I got dragged out of bed on St Patrick's day and taken to a tattoo parlor...while still smashed from the previous evening. While everyone in the group was discussing some finer points of really tough and mean looking tats, I put a shamrock on my hip the size of a quarter.
If I really need something to happen, I remember it is there...rub it 3 times for luck and not a damn thing happens...

 

Iv got one on my lower back, it doesnt bother me much at the min but i know i will proably regret it someday. i can cover it up when im old anyway.

Whatever you get, take your time.

One of my lad mates just got england wrote down the inside of his lower arm in fancy rightin. We keep tellin him its good but it looks a right mess and he knows it. It was the style of writing and the fact that its wonky that ruined. just make sure its what you want before you go ahead with it.

I have 13 Tattoos, arms, chest, back, stomach, leg... I am working on sleeves currently

 

I have a lot. I will work on getting some pictures together. I have an almost full back piece, a large calf tattoo, a rocker across my stomach, a peice on my left arm, and a half sleeve on my right arm

I have the word “HATE” tattooed across the fingers of my right hand and the word “
LOVE” tattooed across the fingers of my left hand. I hit people in the mouth with my right and wipe away their blood and/or tears with the left. I, also, have 3 tears tattooed on my face for each year I spent in the pen. I actually don’t have any, but that sounds so much cooler then “I don’t have any.”

In high school some of my friends bought a tattoo gun and took turns tattooing each other. They each have about 6 tattoos. Of course there was a learning curve so the first few that they gave each other didn’t really turn out too well. Tattoos of note they have:
On has the name “Dr. Dre” tattooed on his shoulder, one has the word “Player” tattooed down his forearm, another has the nickname “Pabs” tattooed across down his forearm, and another guy has a really big blob that is supposed to be a bull dog on his chest.

my dad got a tatoo of a playboy bunny on his bicep when he was in the war - then he later regretted it and tried to remove it himself (read.... OUCH)

i don't know what he did, but it looks like he tried to burn it off. now instead of a playboy bunny on his bicep, he has this big circular red scar.

but the funny thing about it is that he must have wimped out before he burned the ears and the bowtie off - so now he's got what looks exactly like this big red apple with a bowtie on his bicep.

it's no wonder i've got issues. hehe

oh btw - no tats here - but i'm thinking about getting a celtic knotband on my arm. don't know if i will or not. what about piercings? anyone have any of those? I've got a nipple piercing - actually its still healing. let me tell you what.... 14 gauge needle + sensitive nipple tissue = @#$*&%$#

Ive got a few. This is the only pic I have so you wont be able to see much but it will give you an idea. Im the one on the left.


My left arm is covered from wrist to shoulder. Right is covered from elbow to shoulder.

Most tell some kind of story. I have a sun I got in Greece. A clover I got in Ireland. Some dice rolled to 4 and 6 as I used to play in a band called "exit 46".

The rest is just a collection of things Ive gotten over the years. My next is an American flag and after that I'll be getting an old spanish gallion on my back.
