I had rather not say. Some here might think me insane. Of course, I need a lot of it for my work, and it's a business write-off too.

No, I have 8 GB RAM, and 5 TB HD. Sometimes I see the hourglass, but usually not for long unless a specific application is setup to show it during a process that depends on other hardware or that is setup to show the hourglass during a the operation.

I built this as a silent PC -- all of the fans are Nexus and are on pot controls. This is when I first built it.. it has half the storage and still has the passive heatsink on the video card. That video card died a hot death... the new one now has the original cooler.

    Great forum for this: http://www.silentpcreview.com/

Nice cabinet. What are those 2-3 bright lights in front, in place of CDROM.

Thanks; it is a CoolPanel -- card reader, fan controller, and temperature monitor. It isn't perfect but was the closest to what I wanted at the time I built it.

Did you notice the velcro strap hard drive suspensions :)

That CoolPanel looks great and is practical as well. I have an Intel 915 GV board. Is it motherboard specific? Would it work on that? Can you give me a link from where i could buy one?

Is that in dollars or indonesian rupiah? ;) Seriously though, technology is one of the bright spots in consumer goods where the price drops over time while the features/functionality and power increases.

You guys realise your $3,000+ computers will be worth $500 or so in 1.5 years right? :D

I've got a sluggish 2.0GHz with 512gb ram and 2 19" lcds. I'd like to upgrade to dual processors, 2-3gb ram and a 3rd lcd but i find it hard to justify spending so much on a machine that's nearly worthless in 16 months

I just spenta ton of cash on PC parts. They should be delivered in a day or two.

    1) Dell Latitude X1 Laptop Not a "powerful" laptop based on specs. In fact it only has a 1.x GHZ processor, but I loaded it up with 1.2gb ram, an 80gb hard drive, etc. The main selling point is its size. Its going to be a great travel mate. $2,100

2)Dell 2405, 24 Inch Widescreen Love this sucker. Cant wait for it to show up

Im also getting a new rig within the next few days. I need to decide what I want though. Any recomendations for a new desktop system? I dont need the LATEST technology but I would like a decent machine. Im currently surviving on a 1.6ghz laptop and it gets the work done. Mostly used for photo editing, web design, browsing, office tasks etc.
