The choices in your poll are outrageous! More amazing is that there are even people who would say having a kid was a big mistake:(

    Or volume control

Kids are great. Just don't teach them to talk.

Actually, Rob, you know how your wife looks quite fit and pretty ...? Add about 20lbs ... a double chin and wave goodbye to that flat stomach. Once you've let yourself go like that, she'll then trade you in for a better model. :p

If you are going to wait for the 'perfect time' to have kids, it will never come because a reason can always be found for not having them ... money or a job usually.

    Heres my review:
Kids are a present from God. They make your home active, you and your wife happy and close.
For now, you will hate and regret having kids and so on but once a baby is born and the dad picks him up the first time in his hands, It makes just another feeling.

P.S I am not married nor have a kid.

I have a kid in the house but he's not my son. I really love it when he's around. :)

I confess-having kids was great but the first 10yrs of my son's life was without me-because i wanted to party and work at 2 jobs and taking collage courses..that was not fair to him, right?:( My biggest problems with him was when he got 15yrs--all he wanted to do was drunk beer--quess what 'he's still doing the same thing now'--drinking beer and still living at home--he will be 32(Dec 05).
Now, for my daughter--i was sick most of her childhood--not going to get into details--she was the best thing that happen to me and still is but she was a mistake--Now, if i was married and had the picket fence then it would had been o.k. However, if i had to do it all over again i would not have kids at all. I think I would had been a Nun instead!:D
Anyway, i got to admited at least i'm honest.

Yeah. That's supposed to make the sperm more mobile and let them live a little longer. I thought it was usually advised for men, though...

    Are you just guessing?

That's like saying the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, but it's not because that's where I pee.

Exactly - your world revolves around your kids. But to me, that's not a bad thing.

When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I freaked out and I was crying and laughing and saying 'holy shit' over and over and jumping up and down. And I'm just as happy today except I've learned to hide the emotions a little better.

Now with a boy on the way, I'm looking forward to my future more than ever. Nothing could ever come close to the feeling you have when you become a parent. And nothing in the world could feel better than having your little kid wrap their arms around you and give you a big hug. :)

I pee off my balcony, when not trying to wooooooooooo---

Since we are talking about kids----how do you feel about flying your "20 yr. old Swedish chica" to the Carib? I am about to fold. She is good, like puppies and ice cream.

I don't even know where to start to try to figure out what this means.

But I'll tell you one thing: Puppies and ice cream is just wrong. Everyone knows it should be gravy with puppies...

    I second the above.

I have 3 boys (11,10,7) and one girl (2) and yes it's a lot of work, some(ok most) no fun. Party, Friends, Personal time? I wish...

Right now its Saturday night & Sunday is my birthday. Nope, no big night out. Just a quiet night watching a DVD just the kids and I, then Dishes, a litte basic cleaning, and of coarse, a little DP once they are asleep. No, not ideal for some but normal for me(at least this birthday I am not 2 days away from giving birth  ) and honestly I wouldn't change it for the world because there is nothing better than seeing the face in my avatar first thing every morning(as well as my three handsome gentleman). I have it all!

There is no "night out" or party that can even slightly compare to the feeling of your child growing inside you, then to give birth to your beautiful child, and then to get the honour of watching them grow and change over the days and years. It's priceless.

IMO, I would making sure you are sure it is what you both want. Talk about it and talk about it some more. Talk about all sorts of issues about raising a child. I think this thread is a great way to get information to help you two make a choice. I think if you are questioning it even just a little after talking about it now you should wait a couple months maybe even six moths then talk some more to see how you feel then. There is no rush.
