Just got a 5 year present from a company I work for, a plant. This is funny as I do not have a window in my office. I fear death is around the corner.

I started thinking about my work days and patern that I have come used to. My random thought of the day is...

Does anyone else seem to have to hide in the "other" office in the morning after that big cup of joe and the bagel? Is this a physical reaction to the bagel and coffee, or just my animal instincts.

I remember my friend trained his dog to duke 10 minutes after he fed it. Am I just a over educated animal? Has 5 years done me the same? And no, I do not drool when I hear a bell ring.

    You need Minstrel buddy!

Just caught up with a colleague of a company I'm contracting with. 10 years ago next month I started working for them as a normal employee, but I left after 7 years, having worked parttime for 5 years with 2 lots of maternity leave. After a 2 year gap I'm doing 2 days a week on contract. My darling boss apparantly wants to hold a morning tea to celebrate my being with the company 10 years. I can't work out if I'm in the Hotel California or if he's just trying to make it look like the company has a really stable workforce!

And the 10 year thing takes me back to a training course I did in SanFran. Not being used to the accents I was mightily confused for a bit because the presenter was talking about her ten years with the company - but the company was only 2 years old. Turns out it was "tenure" - not a word I'm used to hearing.
