Why can't I show more than one ad? (ALERT:NEWBIE)

so i just started adsense. I have them on my blog, I want to show three ads on top, one shows fine, but when I add the other two I just get some empty space. Iread something about this in adsense help area but I didn't understand why it was happenning. The closest I came to an answer is that Google can't find enough relevanyt stuff to show more than one ad. Is this right?

 

It is fine. Google's bots need to review your site, and you need content in order to gain context. One of my older blogs ends up with empty space often because there are no relevant ads for that particular blog!

I've seen some blogs lay empty for 10 days even with constant updates and new content. I checked your blog right now and I see an ad!

 

thank you, yes one ad has shown since the begginning. I just added the other two (should be in the blue area below the ad) Ive been reading and I suppose I should just wait a bit.
I read in the adsense TOS that they don't want you to show more than three ads per page. Is this right? I often see many more than that! Even in googles ad examples they show more. What am I missing?
if so should I count the google search and refferral images as ads?

When they say "3 ads" they mean 3 ad UNITS. Some ad units show up to 5 ads -- if you use 3 of these units you'll have a total of up to 15 ads. You can also ad a link unit (I believe up to 4 links), and two referrals (Google AdSense and Firefox) as well as a Google search bar. Don't overclutter your site though!

 

Sometimes there will be delay till google bot crawls ur page.
