Why does google only show 1 ad for my large rectangle

    Hey guys.

I put a large rectangle ad on my page. Yesterday, this ad showed around 4 ads in the rectangle. However, today it only shows 1. Any reason for this?

Do you read the what is new page of google adsense? I suggest you start doing so. Have a look here and especially read about the part about the ads optimization. ;) Happy reading.

It could be the optimized ad units that crazyhorse points out. It could also be CPM ads (where you are paid per impression rather than per click).

It's probably Google optimizing your ads for you.
In their infinite wisdom, they vary the number of ads shown in an ad block. Personally I think it's a f###king pita and I wish they'd stop it. On some of my sites it makes the layout look completely f'in stupid.

Means G will remove the low bidded ads and put the highest bidded one prominently so that the cpc will be up for the publisher

It is a trade-off between $$ and layout.

This is also the biggest problem im suffering! This problem have definately reduce my CTR alot because if u have 2 ads, 1st is top adlink, and 2nd is large rectangle with only 1 ads in it...then u must not put the third ad which is wide skyscrapper because your ads will show in the wide skyscrapper and leave the large rectangle empty...in other words u are losing clicks and money!

Gosh i really miss those days...
