Why does it cost $89 to Join WebmasterWorld.com?

I don't understand why so many people pay the $89 or whatever the fee is for a yearly membership of webmasterworld.com

Is it really that much better than digital point or any other webmaster forum?

No, I'm a free member. Just paying the fee gives you permission to chat in the secret donators-only forum I think and a couple extra things.

I thought WW was a paid subscription forum. :-\
I couldn't find a free way to register. I searched Google and found a thread, that's how I found it...but could not register without paying..

I believe they just went subscription only, since I can't read any messages without getting redirected to the subscription screen.

89 bucks for six months - give me a fricking break. Time to remove the bookmark...buh-bye.

Well you can also signup free there, but yes you need to have a domain email as they don't accept the gmail or yahoo or msn or hotmail ids.

So there is a little investment although :)

You'd be amazed how many people pay that fee. Then again, anyone who makes webmasterworld their primary webmaster forum obviously is in need of some serious help. :)

You must get something more for paying don't you? I notice that with my free account I can't have a signature link.

If any one here is on crack and paying...unsubscribe right before it expires. I once did that, and it took them almost a year before they noticed I unsubscribed. :D ie, I had a years worth of free access to the support board. :D er...then again, I rarly went there.
