Why forum business is so difficult?

some ppl would argue, vbseo is useless, because of the pricetag and some bugs, DP doest use it and they are doing fine..it takes time

For the promotion, i think, if your forum category is "Gifts" then give away free "Gifts", give away usefull things for your forum users, also create competitions..Make Good Posts..

You must have good knowledge of your forum category, if you dont have, then study first.

Find some forums same as your forum category and use your signature.

If your forum category is "Gifts", then use your signature like, "Free Gifts.........Join Now "Your Forums Title".

Also use the thread title of controversial posts in your forum. But dont link it to your home page. Link to your thread page...

For getting income...You have to use two types ads..

1. Use adsense, yahoo or any
2. Find sites selling your "category related products". Contact that webmasters, dont send emails, Dial Your Phone and talk with them.

Use "Skype" for lower rate calls.

Only sell CPM or Permanent ads thats pay monthly, like "link sales" in DP.

When you receive atleast one order for advertising from those webmasters you called, send emails to all other webmasters, with the advertised site details..

"Advertised webmasters site name", advertised because our site have huge potential....bla bla...

Place ads in good areas, dont place in hidden areas like footer etc...

Sell links and add it in the footer...

These are my ideas, i am going to start a forum, what you think, is this work?..I think yes...

Personally I think with forums it is all about timing and intent. You need the right niche and the timing needs to be perfect & the promotion intense in my view for to be a success these days.
