The Carlyle Group is a real company, they make real money off the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their advisor is George H.W. Bush: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Carlyle_Group

While they are afraid of guys like me and anthony, they love people like you BamaStangGuy. They know people like you will never figure it out, and will always dismiss their existence and activities as a conspiracy theory, when there is nothing about them that is a theory.

BamaStangGuy, have you ever heard of Nikola Tesla, Viktor Shauberger, or T. Henry Moray? Did they ever teach you about these men in school?

If the answer is no, and it probably is, that is the exact point. There are other forms of energy available which are cheaply available but the average person doesn't know anything about it because they're slaves to gasoline and oil.

The average person today is so ignorant of technology. How many people reading this have ever heard of HAARP, ECHELON, DARPA, or even the Predator? Have you ever heard of cryogenics?

The US government has technology out in the desert that will make George Lucas jealous. Why do you think they post signs at Area 51 saying they'll kill you if you cross into their base? What are they trying so hard to hide?

Use your brain. The government had stealth aircraft as far back as the sixties, and that is now declassified. What in the hell do you think they're using now?

Lots of companies provide services to Iraq and Afghanistan. Companies are in the business of making a profit. You should be too. If you are not, let me know, as I would like to put you to work for free. I love people that hate making money and want to work free, but they are hard to find when it comes to them personally doing the work.

Today you are elected president Tesla. You have a passionate displeasure of oil and gas. Americans need it to get to and from work. But it displeases you personally. What will you do? You are the president. Will you put an end to all gasoline and force Americans to buy only new sources of energy automobiles, when US Auto makers are just now introducing them? Will you force everyone to walk? How do you personally solve this displeasure of yours, were you the president? Can you do it overnight? Can you do it in two years? Can you do it in ten years? Will you *force* automakers to use *your* plan?

You always have the complaint part down, but never the solution. What happens to the airlines? Sounds like your solution is to crumble an entire country/economy because you have a passionate displeasure with oil and gas. Meanwhile, the government and auto makers are researching other forms of energy. Apparently your displeasure comes from the otherwise reasonable expectation that such a massive transformation can't come overnight and just replace millions of cars, trains, automobiles, motorcycles and other transportation sources that rely on it. Such high expectations

Promoting an alternative source of energy is something that will take some years to put into effect. If I phased out gasoline and oil overnight, society would collapse.

I would incrementally phase out gasoline over a number of years. I would slowly introduce new forms of energy, and one day in the future, gasoline and oil will be history.

But our government doesn't do this. All they do is invade countries for oil, and make money off skyrocketing oil profits, while the world is being driven into poverty. Of course, they don't really care because by the time the oil runs out, they'll be dead.

Sure there are lots of companies working in Iraq and Afghanistan gtech. But how many of them have George H.W. Bush, the father of our current president, advising them? How many of them have Colin Powel, and George Soros as people who have worked for them?

How many of these companies hire ex politicians who have just come out of office to work for them, giving the company an advantage over other companies. None of them do but one company. That company is the Carlyle Group.

The fact that George H.W. Bush is affiliated with the company, and has advised his son on foreign matters, is a conflict of interest, to say the least.

So you are some sort of chemistry/energy major in college? What new forms of energy are you working with, that you would force the US to use? Would you be able to do this in your term? Phasing out hundreds of millions of gasoline powered cars, buses, shipping trucks, airplanes, boats, fighter jets, military vehicles, et al would require extraordinary amounts of funding, resources to desert these transportation vehicles and auto makers as well as airline, boat, truck and other manufacturers would have to retool their factories, test this magic new form of energy that is supposedly ready, be assured such energy demands from this magic new energy source could meet the demands of all new transportation modes and sustain long term increased supply/demand.

You almost had me going, until this part. Because this appears to be your purpose in life. Visiting web sites with "prison" in the url to get the latest fear pimping from AJ that forces your mind to accept that the sky is falling, the world is coming to an end and only you and his followers have the mental capacity to see it. Where's the oil? Which ship comes across the ocean with Iraq oil? What's it's name? The world has always had poverty and it always will. Since when is it the president of the US to solve world poverty? When was that mission statement attached to his job? What other president in history has done this? What other world leader has done it? I just don't get this fantasy world you live in, where everything should be perfect, just the way you want it. You are in for a miserable life!

Who said ex-presidents can't have a job? Who are the advisors of other companies and why do you not have a problem with them earning a living?

That's pretty far fetched. So, if you really think you are so right on this one, make a list of all other companies then research ALL of them to be sure that none of the others have any links to any politicians. Find out which democrats own stock in Haliburton and other companies.

You say he's advised his son on foreign matters. Do you know that for sure? What if John Kerry owned stock in Haliburton? Would it make a difference?

    BamaStangGuy, he can't help it:

    http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=narcissism

Sometimes you can reason with one of the other voices in his head though. But they come with their own personality disorders.

Take it as a compliment. If you are not liked by Anthony, it most likely means you are rational and normal, which is a good thing. If he doesn't like you and always posts "Nixon" and "Dick Cheney stole my cans of oil from my garage" comments to your posts, then it means you are doing ok.

If you go to the link in Wikipedia I posted, you will see that the Carlyle Group is full of 99% politicians. This gives them an unfair edge in business competition, to put it lightly.

George H.W. Bush is making money off the decisions his son is making in office. And he can influence his son on decisions. If you were president, and your father was the former president, and he called you asking that you change a policy that would hurt his business, and you and him were close, what would you do?

If you go and read the book "The Iron Triange: Inside the Secret World of The Carlyle Group, you will not only get the information about the phone call George H.W. Bush made to his son in 2001 in regards to Saudi Arabia, but an actual declassified letter from Frank Carlucci, the chairman of the company and friend of Donald Rumsfield, asking Rusmfield and Colin Powel about changing a policy for him.

Horses and wagons didn't lose their appeal over night did they? It took time for people to stop riding horses and wagons, and it will take time for them to stop being dependent on oil and gas.

My term as president wouldn't be enough to change anything. In fact, it isn't up to the president, it is up to the energy companies and automobile industry. But more often than not, they're in bed with the oil companies and have a vested interest in keeping people dependent on oil.

I would just like to add a thought... I was looking at the forum and realized, for most sane people, the title of this thread must be pretty funny.

"Why Iran cannot have Nuclear weapons?"

I mean um, what kind of question is that?

[ChangeTitle]Why shouldnt you shoot yourself in the face with a 12ga shotgun?[/ChangeTitle]

But only one gives you trouble? Indeed, if I follow the link, what we learn is:

    1) GHWB was an advisor, until 2003. GWB was an advisor until 1992.
    2) Two memebers that served under Clinton ARE Chairmen.
    3) Their members include people from several countries.
    4) Soros was affiliated, along with several others from various parts of the world.

    We learn:
Wow, that's what all the Saudi/Carlyle hoopla is about? A former company owned by Carlyle that received all this money, during Clinton's tenure? And, at a time when, neither GWB or GHWB were a part of the company? What am I missing?

    We learn:
    Sounds pretty diversified to me.

    And we learn:
Sounds reasonable to me. Is there some smoking gun?

From a position he hasn't held since 2003?

I'd make sure the facts were straight before I made such accusations. Thinking it is one thing, proving it is another. As much as the MSM hate GWB, and to the degree that they even make up ficticious stories about his guard service, I'm confident if there was a problem there, they would be all over it. If the NYT can commit treason by publicizing secret programs aimed at al qaida, I'm sure the MSM could come up with a story here...if there was one.

The economist has a review. Not surprising that "conspiracy theorist" is mentioned. If there is a smoking gun here, were is the MSM and all the angry democrats?

So we can agree there is no short term solution? Meanwhile, the government is working on solutions and as you point out, in time, our dependencies on energy will shift in focus, to other forms of energy. And rightfully so. I look forward to the day, if I'm still around. I too, know it cannot be done overnight, but I know it is a concern that seems to have no political boundaries at this point.

Then why blame the president and the government? If you have the complaint part down, shouldn't you have a solution? If there really were a link to presidents and oil, whether Clinton (yes, you can actually sit down to make a strong case that Clinton had strong ties to oil companies and set out to find evidence to support such) or Bush, why has the MSM not been able to expose such? They certainly seem capable of exposing highly classified secrets to our enemies with no problem.

Auto manufacturers are working on this issue. A number have introduced electric and hybrid cars. Just this week, I'm seeing a commercial for a new Lexus hybrid car. I can't help but wonder why "we" shouldn't appreciate their efforts? If, as you say, it is up to the auto makers, AND, they are producing new models each year, why blame them for not doing something they already are and have been doing?
