    I think they ran out of names and just decided to call it an orange. Its a bit like a mother naming their child Christian. "What Christian name would you like to give your son?". "Yes, that will do, lets name him Christian" lol The same thing happened when naming the orange :p

    In India There Is A City Named As Nagpur Which get recognize only for oranges . and orange color suit on orange tht's why it's called orange ! :)

    There may be two things happened. Either someone liked the orange and named it to color orange
    Or may be he/she liked the color of fruit orange named its color as orange.
