As an Anesthesiologist, what are the worst cases of lung disease you have seen so far?

I've seen quite a few patients with endstage emphysema and/or lung cancer. Neither one is very good at the end. You really don't want to know what they go through. Anesthetizing them is quite a chore.

I quit smoking last sunday, 1 week 1 day cold turkey. I am Zyban. It really does help. This time is for real, never gonna have even just 1. Thats what happened to me last time, I had gone 6 months, went to a party with some freinds, had a cigar. Dumb dumb dumb.

Drugs in that family are evil, go back to smoking or do it cold turkey.

Because ... It's a nervous tickle ... not to hold something in your hand, and take it to the mouth when you drink a cofee.

I would say its more difficult in places where you are still allowed to smoke in pubs or bars. There has been a big drop in "Social Smoking" here although it does surge a bit in the nice weather as most people bring their drink outside.

it will never be too hard for a person with discipline. i managed to stop smoking for quite sometime now. for the first few days after i quit, i spent as much free time as possible in places where smoking is prohibited like libraries, churches. then i drink a lot of water and fruit juice. then i don't drink alcohol, coffee, and other beverages that we associate with smoking.
