I just dont drive drunk, not worth the ticket, or the fact that you could kill someone. Amongst all the other reasons its not worth it. Also with all the times I cheated death in my younger years, I feel I should quit while I am ahead.........

What really pisses me off is when parents drive home from family get-togethers or parties or whatever with their kids in the backseat after they've had too many.

My car looked worse than that, but it was hit from the other side and never caught on fire. I was indeed lucky.

Although drinking and driving is stupid, doing so with kids in the car is infinately more so. All it takes is a split second and many lives can be shattered.

And it's usually the drunk driver who lives.

And all you did was spit out some glass? Man, you're indestructible! I would be dangerous if I was indestructible!! :p

I do believe that the majority of the population has driven drunk at some point. People joke about it. It's easy to joke the next morning when you're safe and sober. But this kind of stuff can happen. wow, I'm thinking about a couple of nights I was trashed and still got behind the wheel. I really don't know of a best way to prevent drunk driving, but the whole "friends don't let friends drive drunk" thing is IMO best. Don't let your friends get behind the wheel if they're lit. Pay for their cab home if they've spent all their money on booze and stuff. Seriously. When you let yourself get to the point to where your judgement is gone, someone else should step in.

Either that or I used up one of my 9 lives, another was used crashing my paraglider.

The drunk that hit me had a big huge 70's car and walked away without a scratch. He had beer in the car which he started drinking after the crash and was never charged as they could not prove he was driving drunk.

I manage to get out of my car quite quick, but was dazed and bleeding and the guy came over, then went to a payphone on the corner and called 911 as there was no one else around as it was 3:30 AM.

hrblcantra, do you remember that day long ago when a "Dan Rostinkowski" was visiting our fine state...? Lake Geneva I believe. Drunker than a skunk. Wonder what became of him. (Illinois politician)

Like someone said earilier... We've all done it. Certainly not a good idea, and most of us learn our lesson sooner, rather than later. Even a couple of drinks can have an affect.

One thing I have never done is ride my V-Rod drunk. I rarely if ever will ride after drinking anything.

How long ago was that Mia? Not sure off hand to tell you the truth, especially the name. Do believe I remember at least one or two in the past but not sure if it's the same one.

He was the Illinois Congressmen that was on the Ways and Means Committee that was evetually booted due to mail fraud.

"Illegally converted official funds to his personal use and mail fraud; accused in 1996 of embezzling $700,000 from the federal government, he was charged with 13 of the original 17 counts against him. Went to prison after serving in Congress; now back in Washington working as a lobbyist."

BTW, Queen was my workout (iPod) music today at the "Y" ;)
