I just found out that my sister and my social security numbers are within 50 of each other. The rest of the numbers are the same. We were born in two different states, more than 2 years apart. What's really strange is that her number is higher than mine - and she's older than me.

Any reasonable explanation for this other than the Federal Witness Protection Program?

I'm thinking she's not really your sister. I think she is a government spy and they got a little sloppy on the paperwork. She might even be an android.

I thought SSN's were random. The all but two digits being the same is wierd. But I don't think it's odd that her's is higher.

I think the first 3 are where you're from.

The middle two are when it's issued.

And the last four are a random serial number?

The last four indicate the month and year you are scheduled to be abducted and anal-probed by aliens.

Consider that as a weird coincidence. Things like that always happen on this world.
