Wiki for Article Management

    I'm planning to add article into my site. I know i can use cms/article mgt system to do that. i found articlelive is great but pricey so i come to wiki and i think it's can do manage articles?? wiki and articlelive both are SEF ( using categorized url )

    I do not know about wiki, need you advice about that. can we use wiki to manage article? what is the diference between them??

    Also Is it hard to customize wiki template? what do you think the best wiki ( not bloating and eat lot cpu load )

    The great thing about wiki is that visitors can add there own content! If you don't want an article page edited, you can lock it. For example, try to edit this page. You can't, but if you click any main link, then you can edit/add content.

    Most people lock the index so only admins can edit that. You can link to anything you want to on the main page. It doesn't automatically link to the newest pages there. It has a Recent changes page. I don't think they have RSS for every content page.

    And I suggest you require visitors to register before editing/adding new pages. You don't want it to be too easy to add/edit pages. (Vandelizers, on one of my sites for example, before requiring registeration, one person went through and added porn images!!!!!)

    I think erfurtwiki has both and rss reader and an rss feed feature as plug ins.
