IMO, Win7 is great on new machines. If you have an older machine running XP, there is really no reason to change. Just keep until you're ready for a replacement computer.

Windows 7 is better infact far better than windows xp in terms of speed and memory usage. And all those here who are criticising windows 7 to be a memory hogger or not being able to run on old machines, well if you guys are still stuck with crappy 256 mb rams or are using 10 year old machines, then dont expect microsoft to make backword compatible softwares....

If you have good config. PC than go for Windows 7 Ultimate. Win XP is slower as compared to Win 7 and Win 7 is more efficient than Win XP.

According to Microsoft, their job No. 1 is to make their software backwards compatible. Also, several online sites have shown that, in some circumstances and software, XP is faster and uses less resources than Win7. I don't have the links handy so Google for it.

    1. I'd have to say Win7.
    2. Windows 7, no doubt.
    3. Again, Win7.
    4. So far no issues in the W7 RC.. don't know if I can say that about XP :p

I didn't have any problems with games on Win7... although I'm not a big game fan. WoW, Civilization 3 and some others run without any problems.
