    I'm buying a new desktop tomorrow & sadly it's Windows 8!

I'm pretty happy with it, whatever I don't mind.

But it doesn't tell me what Windows 8 is it? (Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Or RT)

I'M GUESSING It's the basic WINDOWS 8! Just Windows 8!

Also I don't mind but just a question with this basic windows 8

WILL I BE ABLE TO INSTALL/USE/RUN other windows xp/vista/7 programs LIKE

    FILEZILLA
    DREAMWEAVER
    THUNDERBIRD
    WORLD OF WARCRAFT

    and things like that.

ALSO WILL I HAVE A DESKTOP WHERE I CAN CREATE FOLDERS & STUFF??? like the other windows?

    Hi

Here is a nice comparison chart for the different versions of Windows 8: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_8_editions#Comparison_chart

All devices that comes pre-installed with Windows 8 will have the RT version. It is very, very limited. You will have access to only partial functions of your Desktop, you are likely not to install a number of different software.

I would highly recommend that you visit Microsoft's website and upgrade to Windows 8 Pro.

They have a special until January 2013 where you can upgrade to Pro at only $39.

If you like a start button and would like to have Windows 8 boot up directly to your desktop, take a look at software called Start8.

I hate Windows 8. The interface looks like it is only designed for a tablet and not a computer. I don't like the huge buttons blocking the background. For now, I am sticking to 7. If only Microsoft made two versions of 8.

If you haven't bought it yet, then you still have the right to cancel the order if it doesn't meet your requirements.

Microsoft usually let older software run on their systems but drop the compatibility after a while - the software (I wrote in '97 worked on XP but not vista).

I'm curious that you came to an internet marketing forum to ask this question and not a windows forum - there are plenty out there.

certainly you will have such a possibility but some programs need drivers that are not available yet, but a lot of services works as well as with W7

I am not comfortable with windows 8. I am doing good with windows 7. I think it's a standard.
