Windows XP and recycle bin dilemma

When I right click in the recyble bin, and choose empty recycle bin, even when it appears empty, it says there are 56 items to delete, but the folder is empty. I choose to delete them, but repeat the process and it still says the files are there.

Anyone have this happen, if so, any solution? I've googled it, but came up empty

Have you scanned your machine for spyware/adware/viruses?

Yeah, spyware and virusscan, but my machine is clean. It's just one of those small annoyances.

Sorry... Can't help really. Never seen that one before...

If you find a solution, let us know...

XP is annoying me too at the moment... It's not letting me have more that one process running for FireFox which means I can ONLY have one window open at a time...

    It's been driving me nuts...

    rd /s /q c:\recycler
    Code (markup):
in the msdos prompt, then a reboot solved it. I guess the RB info file was corrupt.
