Wired Turns into Gossip Rag

Okay...I'm fairly sick of all the silly misinformation I read in blogs about SEO, but this article by Wired takes the cake. Come on guys, you could have at least put one useful piece of information in! No mention of Search Engine Strategies any resource sites, or anything else other than...Google...gossip....party at Googleplex....gossip...silly black hatters.....gossip....Matt Cutts....gossip.

Poor Wired, they're turning into Gawker.

Hmmm...didn't notice that. Still can't believe they're using AP filler for their website or anything. How far they've fallen.

It seems like wired has always had stuff that was more commentary on technology and society (gossipy) then pure info. It seems like they always balance that out with some good info articles too though. Are you saying it looks like they are not offering as much info as they used to? I haven't been reading wired as much lately.

    You remember BookIt?

Pizza Hut would give a free personal pan pizza for every X books you read. Man I wish they still did that.

I do remember that. It sure beat raising money for the March of Dimes and getting nothing in return! :D

I was going to say that it was still going, since my kids do that. The funny thing is they already read tons of books each month so they just fill out the book-it thing and get a pizza.

A couple of my kids read a book a day. And some of these books are beyond todays 12th grade reading levels. (one of the benefits of homeschooling.)

debunked you must get a bunch of pizzas every month. I can just imagine all of the books all of your kids must read. Home schooled children seem like they read a lot more.

Now did you just have a bunch of children just for the pizza?

There was a rumour that Wired had terminated half of their staff in July.

Maybe they're just adding AP articles on their website to make it seem bigger. It's still a crap article tho....you think they'd have some editors who would catch this. Or maybe they're just clueless when it comes to SEO they don't know any better. :p

I think that "pregnancy for pizza" concept could really take off with a little marketing behind it...

    Think Superbowl Half-Time Show...
