I wish you were here in Pattaya, Thailand:

Have you ever been before? Do you plan to go (or return) someday?

And you? Where do you wish I was?

Here they sell tshirts with a writing:
"Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go to Pattaya"
they sell also with boys instead of girls..

Maybe your mother does know what she's talking about, but I doubt so..Saying all the country is full of prostitutes? I haven't been everywhere but you can see many women who are not prostitute, or at least don't seem to be, like cashiers, bank tellers, shop owners, school girls, etc, etc.. Prostitutes have districts in several cities, it's quite limited..
All of Thailand? I don't think so, but in Pattaya, that's for sure hahaha..
It's the biggest open brothel in the world I think. Can't think of another one like that, do you?
Another city/island is Phuket, I don't know if it really competes in number of prostitutes, never been there.

I think you are wrong and they say the city with the most serious prostitution problem is Bangkok.

Whatever you think is the truth if you believe it. Me I lived in bangkok and I now live in Pattaya. You've never been to Thailand. But still, whatever you think must be the truth.
And anyway, in my opinion prostitution is not a problem. But if you believe it is then it is, ok, fine. :)

What are the positive aspects of visiting to Thailand, that could not be promised if I go to Dubai or somewhere else for a vacation instead?
Never visited Thailand, so just curious.

You must stop and think, there is a reason for every saying. People don't just say it. There is a reason for everything people said. I think the things in Thailand are cheaper. I also think there is a heavy influence of Buddhism in Thailand.

I've travelled through Thailand twice, once for 3 months and the last time for only a couple of weeks. Both trips were amazing and we were never approached by prostitutes or drug dealers. If you go looking for trouble you will find it, if you don't you won't.

Zirkon - lets just hope you don't end up marrying a man who thinks a trip to Thailand must include a whore. Men like that should never marry.

It is true. May be the prostitution problem is not as worse as many years ago because I was told that when I was young. Why I say that because Thailand has a lot of brothels and so naturally people would say that. I agree if you don't go looking for trouble, you won't get into trouble. As I know there are lots of prostitutes so AIDS and STDs must be rampant. But I know I am not saying you will get into trouble if you go to Thailand. I am just saying.

Remember too, if there were no customers, there would be no prostitutes.

I can't, for the life of me, understand why a guy would want to have sex with anyone who was only doing it for the money.

@Zirkon Kalti, I've met a few bad girls from Malaysia in my time, but I don't paint the whole country with the same brush. One of the things my uncle and aunt often mentioned (used to visit there a lot on business) that there were a lot of counterfeit goods readily available in KL. Again, I didn't let that influence my view of the country as a whole.

I could have, but I'm not that narrow minded.

Funny, you base all your views on, "I was told that when I was young" (makes it sound like quite a few years ago). A great, sound, knowledgeable judgement. (Sarcasm, in case you didn't realise.)

Regarding OP's question. No, I haven't been, but want to (Chiang Mai more than Pattaya).

That is a really pretty scene. I have traveled through a good chunk of Europe and to Japan. But, never made it to any of the other Asian countries.

How do you know I am from Malaysia? I remembered I went to Kuala Lumpur by bus and stayed at a hotel. Every taxi driver was so worried for me and he told me that the hotel I stayed is near to the brothel. He advised me to stay at a more expensive hotel but I say I don't want because I had a limited budget. The taxi driver asked what am I, a young girl doing, in Kuala Lumpur. I was staying at a budget hotel at that time.

Another experience was when I got into the taxi to go to the Carrefour shopping market. It was quite near but tiring to walk so I took taxi. I entered the taxi and saw the driver watching porn video on his phone but fortunately, he is not a bad man.

I enjoyed the time when I was in Kuala Lumpur and looking back in those days when I was younger, I really want to go back to that time. I always go to KLCC when I was in Kuala Lumpur. I was very curious and always try to go many places on my own by foot, LRT, taxi and bus.

It's a bit of a giveaway. I have no issue with people knowing where I'm from.

Also, you put Malaysia in your profile. So, although people do lie about their location a lot, I don't think you are.

Every place has good and bad points.

Are you 100% sure she is from Malaysia? The way she's been quoting the bible on here lately, I was presuming that maybe she was an angel, and that her location was heaven.
