    Hello

My name is Dave and I am from the Support of WorldPay.

We have received the payment order (ID 0220712,Receipt Date 09/07/2006) from you and we need to
make a verification of the details you have filled in, as we have received a notice from your card
service stating that there was a chargeback made by the owner of the card with which you have made
the payment and that your level of authorization has been altered during your last transaction.

This is a very serious matter. We have deducted the amount of the chargeback, GBP 149.89, from
your account and added our standard fee of GBP 24.00 as well (you can see your payment details in
    the attachment).

We have failed to contact you using the telephone number you have provided earlier, meeting no
    response.

As a precaution, we have limited access to your account in order to protect against future
unauthorized transactions. Please understand that this is a security measure intended to help
protect you and your personal information.

Please contact your credit card company to resolve this matter.

    Best Regards,
    Dave Gollick

A Scam? How? There's no attempt to get your info as far as I can see. Is this just someone messing around?

I just got one of these, well two the same actually.

The attachment is a zip file that contains an .exe file. I did not extract the file but I suspect that it is a virus file. DON'T OPEN IT.

To be safe I've deleted it off my system and just done a virus check too. My advice if you get one of these, just delete it totally (press shift+delete in Outlook).

I got one of these yesterday.
If you reply, the email just gets bounced.
And you are right, the attachment is an exe which you should not open - possible virus!

Also be careful with the image attachments. I recently recieved one which turned out to be a virus. My computer started dumping files but thank god I had a finger on off button and shut it down. Luckily, my computer recovered for the most part without major problems.

I later consulted with a programmer friend, who said there's apprently a way to disguise exe's as image files. Eludes me, but watch out.

When in doubt always look at the header of the email and check the IP number of the sender, it can save you a lot of grief later.
