Wordpress Pages and Subpages

Hello,

i am a newbie when it comes to wordpress issues so bare with me. I have a site based on wordpress that have pages and subpages.

The URL of the pages are like: http://myhomepage.com/pages and subpages goes like this:http://myhomepage.com/pages/subpage.

My question is is there any plugin or way that i can make the URL of the subpage to appear like: http://myhomepage.com/subpages as i feel this will shorten the subpage URLs?

Are you referring to Pages or Posts?

Pages are nested by Category.

Posts can be displayed with "pretty urls" based on the settings you choose called "permalinks".

I could be misreading your intent... but plugins generally don't manipulate this structure.

I am referring to pages and subpages and not posts. I have used "permalinks" to manipulate posts URLs.

But what i wanted to know is whether subpages that nested within categories or pages can be made to stand alone.

For eg. a Subpage URL of http://homepage.com/pages/subpage, can it be manipulated to have an URL of http://homepage.com/subpage and thereby bypass the main page (not the homepage) which it falls under?
