Working out / Healthy eatting

Since most of us work on computers all day (i know i do) we don't get much activity out of our bodies during work, so how do you find/make time to go out and get some exercise?

Lately I've been so into my projects I rarely leave the computer long enough to grab a snack to eat

Exercise used to be one of the biggest parts of my life (basketball). But after HS and moving into this field it's just so hard to get out and do stuff. The same gos for healthy eatting..

I just got my puppy so that forces me to go outside and play with him (since hes locked inside all day). But I still need to motivate myself to get that heartrate kicked up once in a while.

A few months ago i was using the buddy system (working out at the gym with a friend) and going 2-3 times a week.. it went pretty well for 3 months but my friend stopped going and without him I'm just not motivated to go alone :(

Those are the two (2) items that I need to seriously put some work into. This computer lifestyle can be hell on your system.

two things i often neglect.. but this past few days (actaully after watching "supersize me") i started to do some sit ups and push ups and walking just so to avoid sitting in front of the computer the whole day. i also try to stay away from fast foods.. but it is just so hard sometimes!

I got into it. I go to the gym about 5 or 6 days a week. I'm still young so between girls and not getting killed at wrestling my movation stays high. Just start slow and work up with both gym and what you eat. Try to switch all your simple carbs into complex carbs. Once you get the hang of that try to get as much protien you need in a day. Once you get in the habit its not too bad and you will feel great. Theres always room for a cheat day once a week. :p

Yeh except i have weird tastes.. i dislike nearly all fruits and veggies.. never had a salad in my life... i physically can't get it down...

I get all the protein I need but add in the soda's , potato chips and alcohol and my diet isn't looking so good  ... and it's very hard not to eat those things when you have all your life... but i've always been thin (from all the basketball) even when eatting like that.. now that i dont get that 4 hours of cardio in it's starting to hit my body and I want to stop it before it becomes noticible..

Maybe you could join a 24HR. gym and go really early in the morning or late at night.

My legs muscles atrophy if I don't get exercise. It hurts to walk upstairs sometimes.

At the very least I try to stretch for 15 minutes each day. It's pretty sad when you're sore for two days after playing a softball game.

    Try this:

Every morning first thing I run 2 miles with my dog. I then come home and shower its a pretty good start to the day for me.

Usually in the afternoon I will try to run another mile if its not to hot.

Mmmm, my wife makes the greatest banana cake (w/ homemade icing) in THE WORLD!

You'll have to give a few more piggy-back rides to work it off, fryman.

For eating healthy, I just use willpower at the grocery store. If I don't buy the junk, it takes a lot more effort to get junk to eat. Of course, there are times (like now) where that tactic fails because willpower fails.

My husband and I have just started taking a walk after dinner again. When the weather cools down a little, we'll probably add in taking Ariel to the park three blocks away. She's not exactly willing to let anyone just stand there when they could be playing with her on the playground equipment.

When I go shopping I have no willpower..I see all the shiney wrappers and funky boxes and I just stick 'em in the trolley.. If they made pink banana's and square apples I might be more interested in them.

Best tip is to goto the grocery store when you're really full..seriously you will hardly buy any food. it works for me anyway! :D

Going to the grocery store full is a double edged sword. The bad part is you have to go back soon because you don't have enough food... But ya if you go there hungry you will want to eat half the things you just bought as soon as you get home.

I like to go when im not hungry or full ;)

A good & Valid point, JoeO Sir!

Well I have a friend that motivates me. (She just doesn't know it) She is rather fat. Ah what the hell - The girl has more chins than a Chinese phonebook.

One look at her and It's enough to make me eat healthily.

Nah, She would just laugh and say ''Oh mella...'' Isn't it amazing how most fat people have such a great sense of humour.

Name me one good looking comedian.
