    Have any of you been watching the World Series of Poker ? I saw some of it the other day and it's funny watching them try to make it look like a high action sport. :p

    The popularity of poker has increased significantly in the last couple of years and can be attributed to a couple of things. Firstly the online poker rooms and secondly that many games are being televised. It is a game that attracts a lot of characters and I think this is what makes it interesting.

    If you really want to see some good commentating then check out fishing. I saw a show where a group of people sit around a small lake and try to catch the largest fish. Now, I've always considered fresh water fishing boring but these commentators really made me laugh with their seriousness.

    I just played in a game of Hold 'em last night. Not only are more people watching Poker, but (in turn) many more regular games are happening because of the popularity. Vegas HAS to love this.

    Not as long as they said it was, and you should have seen the show that got away. :p

    Reminds me of the quote, "teach a man to fish and you give him a good excuse to sit and drink beer all day." No that any of the competitors dared have a drink in case they missed the big one.

    I've watched fishing shows and I prefer poker shoes. :D Granted I don't watch any on my own free will. Poker just seem to be the hot thing this year.

    I watch it all the time ( :confused: ) really only because my father is trying to get ranked nationally after he retired and placed in a city competition now his hobby is an addiction.
