Im interested in seeing what google can create.. they seem to be heading into the social media scene, although "wave" was such a failure..

regarding "bookmark sites" i would not join a new one.. i dont think that a new function would entice me enough to join, since on this kind of sites.. the content is all that matters

OK, everyone is mentioning backlinks left right and center here.....
How are you generating these backlinks? (Create an account and add links to your site?)

well joining a new social site is now a days a fission but if we look at larger picture, we generally use a social site to be in contacts with our friends and family and that is our primary goal, rest other things are not mandatory.
So joing a new social site is a of no use till its popular or have our people.

No. Without much free time to spare, I'll rarely join a new site without a good reason.

The real appeal of social networks is the SOCIAL part of it. Unless you have a massive network of users, or majorly awesome and completely unparalleled new features, you don't have a competitive model at all. Focusing on a specific niche may help a new site gain traction. By serving a targeted group of users and building the network around their needs, you might stand a better chance of being noticed in the shadow of monsters like Facebook and MySpace.

Well it really depends on those new social sites, if they have good topics and are user friendly then why not join them...

LOL, ROFL how do you want a massive network of users if all think like you, unless that site has cloned accounts.
