    Hi and thanks in advance.

I am looking for a wordpress plugin that will allow me to build a site and a blog.

i.e.: the home page has static content (not the latest posts) although the latest posts can be pushed purther down the page.

What plugin do you suggest? I have looked at the wordpress plugins area but their search feature doesn't work very well so I am unable to find what I need.

    Thanks !

Hey, I'm long-time Joomla user who is just now really starting to get my feet wet in WP, so I am doing a LOT of research into this myself.

It depends upon how you're defining "CMS" (are you going to have forums, video, etc?). Here are some links that may help (just what I've glanced through):

Plus, there is a entire project called "WP-CMS" that is dedicated to making WP really act like a CMS:
    http://wp-cms.com/

Also, there is WordPress Multiuser (MU) which, with BuddyPress installed, becomes a social networking platform.

Read, read, read... and read some more. There is a LOT of good, freely available information out here if you know how to Google right.

UPDATE: Just found this article - seems classic WordPress and the Multiuser version are merging:
