WTF Just happened!?!

Your site is hacked. That can be the only reason that the site is showing other ads.

Try to recover your hosting password if that hacker has not changed the primary email to his own. Or contact your hosting. Also note the YPN ID and email yahoo about this.

 

I was wondering if every non US publisher on DP (must be hundreds of them) would click his Yahoo ads a minimum of 100 times every day for next 30 days....can we eliminate this guy from Yahoo? Atleast it would scare this scamster away I guess.

 

I don't think we want to do that, because it may blacklist his site with yahoo if he wants to get a ypn account someday. Just let him report to yahoo and un-hack his site.

 

Well this is how the site works...

If you go to the top right you will see login once you login there is an "Admin" option on top.

The person who put there ads on is using my login name "Boss" and he used my password, and changed it. He doesnt have access to the ftp or any hosting access, there is a place right on the site script to edit ads.

Right now I'm trying to find out how to find the password for users on the site, through the ftp? Is there anyway?

Yahoo are not very consistent about this issue it seems.

 

Just go in the database and change your password again. Or get the script and open a backdoor for yourself.

 

I don't know the script but it's probably in a database, in a MD5 hash. So create a new account first with a simple password, go to the database and copy paste the MD5 hash of the new password over the admin password. Now you can log in as admin with that simple password. Then set everything back to secure with a strong p_4_ss_w0rdz!

 

My new password is going to be like 20 characters long with alternating #'s and letters and I'm going to write on a piece of paper and keep it in the glove box of my car locked.

 

Take a scan through the log files on the site and scan for admin or some admin page name that you only access... then check the IP on the same row of data and see if it matches yours. If not then make a note and compare it to a number of emails of people who have worked with the site... or members IP's if it logs them and then you can try track down who did this.

Ban the IP from accessing the site. Not sure if Yahoo will ban for reasons mentioned in other posts here... but at least you can try track down who it was and ban them.

I just gotta figure out what color codes I had to make it flow with the site, my friend did that for me

Also do I add the ca- in the code? or just pub-#### ?

 

You should also figure out how he got in to begin with so you can protect your site better.

 

you should also click on the YPN Ads and record the exact time and your IP address. That's a easy way to prove that this loser 's Ads did shown on your website

 

Yep. I'd be freaking out until I figured that out. Did you have a really simplistic and easy to guess password or does someone have a keylogger/trojan on one of your computers that is logging all of your keystrokes? Your problems could be much bigger than just having your ads changed.

 

Also make a local backup of your site asap. Whenever you give a third party access to your site via cpanel or FTP...change the password FIRST...then we he is done..change it back.

 

if you have access to phpmyadmin or to the db where the passwords are stored it's pretty easy to recover.
create a new user with a password you know & then copy & paste the encrypted password field into the admin/other users fields as required.
then login using that pw & change it through the admin interface.

The guy who installed your script it's not necessary the one who changed the AS code to YPN . There is a big possibility that your script the site is running on has a bug and someone is searching for these scripts hacks them and puts their own code to earn money .

Take a look at the website who provides this script look for bugs / updates to secure your system .

Also anybody here who is using this script look into securing your website .

Few weeks ago i got hacked too.

Just Protect your admin panel (folder) with a username and password.

I know that sucks, but the hacker who hacked me, didn't make more then $1 because i was already in the admin cp, LOL

 

Yup, looks like I'll be doing that.
