GMail is way better than Yahoomail, they both seriously can't be compared! GMail is faster, has better UI, and can be connected to Google Apps which is a big impact certainly for me!

GMail > Yahoo! mail. Period. Spam filters work better, the interface is better, and cleaner. If you don't use your yahoo account after awhile they delete all of your stuff, GMail does not. GMail has so many features it's hard to name them all. Features that you wouldn't think of at first but then you go, "Oh, wow, that's a great idea!" Features like canned responses, insertion of maps, message translation, inbox preview, the list goes on. Yahoo charges you for POP3 access where GMail is free. I mean give me a break! Folders? Screw folders! Labels! Assign multiple labels to one message, search by label, even nested labels (labels within labels) Yahoo just doesn't compare and it's only a matter of time before Yahoo Mail goes the way of the Dodo. I used Y! Mail for years until I tried GMail, and now I will NEVER go back. GMail rox, Y! Mail sux, deal with it!

I prefer gmail over yahoo mail..As yahoo mail is facing a lots of loading and redirecting problems.. If you want to go back to your inbox from a particular mail then you are not able to return to that page..It redirects to same page... And also there are a lots of problem that i have faced with yahoo mail..

Please guys! yahoo is the leader in everything. I mean Yahoo started first and gmail followed. My first email was that of Yahoo then Gmail but the recent changes in Gmail has frustrated me and I no longer use it for serious emial because it is hard to find the emails you already read. Thumbs down to gmail also the new yahoo email is way cluttered than the previous so thumbs down for that too.

I beg to differ. Gmail may seem to try and overkill some things but it is still the most functional and intuitive email system avaiable for everyone. It is quite secure and it offers everything one could expect from a service like that. I don't like the new way of creating mail, however there is no problem in using the old, more sufficient way.

My personal experience is that.....Yahoo has fast service and receive all kinds of Emails (Spam etc)....On most of sites when you register your account with Yahoo, You get the message on very instant but I have some troubles with Gmail, like receiving mails after a day...
In security concern i do prefer Gmail.

There is not so much difference in both the email providers. I personally prefer gmail because it simple, straight and nice work on slow internet. Beside this, gmail has no such ads but yahoo has a big ads banners. Yahoo has slow servers then gmail, due to which the email speed of gmail is faster then yahoo.

Gmail. Lot of problem in Yahoo.

Yahoo has complicated procedure of registration. Second thing, you don't get your desired name for yahoo.

    It's id is always complicated.

I feel that Yahoo is lagging behind in every aspect, their website is often broken, the email interface is fugly and it's a general unpleasant experience to be on their website.

    Gmail all the way.

I'm using both service and both are good.

If I was to choose one, I would prefer yahoo due to it's nice UI. (Maybe I am used to using YMail. :))

I switched to Gmail because sometimes I'd sign up to a site with my Yahoo mail and wouldn't receive the confirmation. I didn't want to take any more chances for important things.
