First I've heard of anyone doing it to be honest. Not really very effective on YT is it? Just like all those 'questions' I get for my auctions.

If you pay to advertise your business there, I don't see why they have to ban you.

I think it would depend on the matter in which you proceed to "promote" your business.
I'm sure you'll get banned for spamming.

Actually one of my friends did. He was uploading multiple videos that almost crossed the lines of porn with his affiliate links in the videos. Don't know if it was just the adult stuff or the affiliate links that did it. Maybe it was both.

You tube have got various submission guidelines. It sounds like your mate crossed the line with regathers to porn. Tjhere used to be alot of porn there, but now you find very little and what is there does not stay for long

I personally have never heard of anybody getting banned for putting up a video promoting there web site. Just one video that is tasteful I guess is not considered spam.

yeah ive heard of accounts being banned for consistantly uploading videos that are annoyingly stamped with logos, etc.

however they have only been banned in more extreme cases - besides the peopl e who have claimed this just got another account.

I think youd be safe as long as you followed their ToS. They are probably too busy with the lawsuits over TV shows to worry about you anyway.

I think you can promote your product with crossing the lines defined by YT. Stuff like prono is definitely out.
