YouTube has messed up my very old video clip!

I don't know when this happened but I was feeling nostalgic and looked up a video I'd posted that my kid was in. He's the middle burry object. Really disappointed that somewhere along the line YouTube has changed how it displays old videos and munted the quality.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Indeed, this has occurred to a great number of people. Because YouTube has altered how it encodes and saves films throughout the years, some of the platform's older videos now appear to have a lower quality than they did in the past.

There are a few things you can do to give your older films a shot at having a better quality, including the following:
    • Please reupload them with a higher resolution this time.
    • Make adjustments to the brightness, contrast, and saturation using a tool designed for video editing.

You can find many tutorials online to help you with any of these things if you are unsure how to perform them.

If only I could find my original file!

    15 years old.

This is the entire clip being blurred, not just the faces. I support that policy with a number of exceptions, in this case it was a mainstream media news story.

You could try sending them an email to ask them about the problem, but Google is to me at least, a lot of hassle.

Most likely they don't keep the original quality file, but you could still ask. It might be a while before anyone replies though - Google is too big to care.

I'm not expecting google to do anything, I've made a request of the news organisation. It'll be interesting to see if I ever get a response.

I had to email them because I cannot remember my log-in details to unsubscribe from YouTube premium. I think I did it to get the free month, then forgot my details. They replied and said they need a transaction ID to check, when surely they could find out my sort code and account number. So now Google is getting £12.99 from my bank account every month, even after I had a new card issued.

Plus, I had to email them to ask to have certain links removed on Google's search engine. They only remove links if there is personal details involved, but you have to push their buttons. Otherwise, they sit back and don't give a shit.

On OnlyFans, you aren't allowed to send images with other people in them, just in case anyone finds out. Even screenshots taken from films is probably in this category. I don't know, but they are very particular about the rules.
