YouTube thoughts

I am told that youtube is pretty good for revenue from their advertisers if you generate lots of views. My question is - At what level of views does it become viable to start earning a minimum income?

Also I myself get pretty fed up waiting while some of the longer ads playout and sometimes move on before seeing the original vid. Are there other ways to generate income on youtube vids?

First you need to sign up for AdSense for YouTube: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/2530958?hl=en

To start earning your YT account should be enabled for monetization and approved to display ads.

Once all these things are in place, your earning will depend on the CTR your ads receive. If let's say you have a video that gets 500k views a day but your CTR is 0.05% you will be making far less than if your video gets 10K views a day with a CTR averaging at 0.8%.

 

You need to first set up a successful YouTube channel. If you can't get the views there is no reason even to think about monetizing your videos. Once you know how to get the views then you can set up advertising. You will get a much higher rate with one of the many channel partnerships. Once you get your views over at least 100,000 and your subscribers over at least 500 you will get invitations to join channel partnerships. So, really the bottom line is, build a successful channel and the money will follow if you are going for ad revenue.

The other way to make money from YouTube is to use your videos to drive traffic to your web site where you make your sales. This is the technique I use. I like to partner my YouTube Channel and videos with pins on Pinterest. I get lots of traffic from Pinterest going to my YouTube videos, and then to my web site through annotation links in my videos.

 

It really depends. With so many people using AdBlock now, there are a lot of ads that never get viewed. If your demographic is a younger audience who is highly dependent on AdBlock, you're going to need more views to get the ads seen. Less for an older demographic.

And like George said, you already need to be getting views before you opt into AdSense.

 

You need to ask yourself a more basic question. Can you make more by trying to get massive views and having viewers watch annoying ads, or can you make more by creating videos to brand yourself and promote your own products or affiliate products?

It will take a massively successful channel to make a decent income with the advertising revenue, but a lot less views can make you a great income if you are promoting the right things.

Earning from youtube videos becomes possible when you have substantial amount of views and subscribers. You get more views and subscribers when you upload fresh and quality videos. When this is done, people will always want to hook up with you.

You have to keep on at uploading quality videos and it is advisable that you do not just upload your videos on youtube alone. Get them uploaded on the social media platforms to get more views and interaction. When google sees that people are resonating with your content, you get to be rewarded with high placement in the search listing.

Interact with your audience. Read comments, respond to questions and if need be, create videos based on some of the problems. With these, you will increase your fan base.

Monetization becomes worth it when there is a whole lot of activity on the video. After monetization, check your analytics and tweak what requires tweaking so that you can attract your target audience if are not attracting the right kind of audience.

When you have attained a total of 15,000 watch hours within the last 90 days, then you are eligible to become a youtube partner. Becoming a youtube partner opens you up to a whole lot of opportunities with youtube.

• Keyword research ( Pick low competition keywords)
• Set up a review page for the product or an optin page to collect leads
• Create videos based on the keywords and direct traffic to either optin page or review page.
